Top Worship Songs

One of my favorite things in life is when I discover a worship song that takes me off guard. I can remember times on YouTube, iTunes, or in a worship service when I was overwhelmed by the presence of the Lord at hearing a song. So, I'm trying to pull together a list of my favorite worship songs. These are, by no means, in any particular order. If there's a song that you'd like to recommend, leave me a comment or e-mail me. As much as possible, I'll link to these songs online so that you can give them a listen yourself.

1. "Shekinah Glory" - Cory Asbury & Jaye Thomas, IHOP
Factoid: Get ready. That's all I'm going to say. This is my favorite song right now.
2. "None But Jesus" - Brooke Fraser, Hillsong United
Factoid: This was the first song I listened to when I found out my mom had cancer.
3. "Yahweh" - Reuben Morgan, Hillsong
4. "I Love Your Presence" - Kim Walker-Smith, Jesus Culture
5. "The Anthem" - H.I.S., Planetshakers
Factoid: I have broken many-a sweats dancing to this song. Almost broken many-a ankles, too! Almost.
6. "Holy Is Our King" - Rita Springer, made popular by Rick Pino
7. "Jesus, Let Me See Your Eyes / No One Else (Medley)" Cory Asbury, IHOP
8. "Arms Wide Open" - Misty Edwards
Factoid: I could never do this song live. All I can do is sit and cry. It paints too beautiful a picture of the cross. "This is how I know what love is..."
9. "How He Loves Us" - Kim Walker-Smith, Jesus Culture
Factoid: I think this is a great song for alone time with Jesus. It's almost too intimate a song to do corporately. Great job Kim!
10. "Holy" - Matt Gilman
11. "Pour My Love on You" - Phillips, Craig & Dean
12. "Jesus, You're Beautiful" - Matt Gilman
13. "Lord, You're Holy" - Karen Wheaton
14. "Glorify Your Name" - Lakewood Church
15. "You are Holy" - Lee University Campus Choir
Factoid: This is one of my favorite song to lead-- one of my favorite songs, period. I love any and every worship songs that puts all of the focus on who God is. The song is taken from Isaiah 6. "Then he cleansed my lips right before me eyes...." Wow. Jesus, awaken my heart.
16. "Deep Cries Out" - William Matthews
17/ "This One Thing" - William Matthews

TO BE CONTINUED... SOON.

If we're still gonna be roommates this upcoming semester then we are gonna be great friends! IHOP, Pino, Jesus Culture. Only real music folks know about that.

  2. Perfect! I just found out that they stream IHOP live online, so I started listening at work today. Haven't got much of anything done today, but I don't think Pastor will mind. I mean, it's a church, right?

  5. Thanks, Wendy! I love "Lord, You're Holy"! Never heard of "Total Praise", I'll definitely have to give that a listen. Thanks for the input. I can't wait to see how long this list gets.

"Total Praise" is one of those old school Broadmoor choir songs. Plus, the 'Amen' ending is classic!
